Recently, CCEWOOL® successfully shipped one 40HC container of CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Panels to a long-term partner in Peru with whom cooperation has now entered its fifth year. This shipment not only reflects the customer’s continued confidence in our cooperation efficiency and product reliability, but also highlights the market’s strict requirements—and strong trust—in the moisture resistance of stone wool panels under Peru’s coastal, high-humidity climate conditions.
Many projects in Peru are located in humid, marine environments, where insulation materials are required to deliver reliable moisture resistance. Thanks to a dual moisture-resistance design combining inherent material properties and surface treatment, CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Panels have become a preferred solution.
The moisture resistance of stone wool panels is not achieved solely through hydrophobic treatment, but is fundamentally derived from the natural resistance of the raw materials and the controlled manufacturing process. Natural basalt inherently does not absorb moisture and does not undergo hydrolysis.
CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Panels are manufactured primarily from natural basalt and other mineral raw materials, which are melted at high temperatures and fiberized. Their inorganic mineral composition means that the fibers themselves do not absorb moisture or undergo hydrolytic reactions. Even in high-humidity environments, the panels do not swell or degrade in performance as organic materials or certain composite boards may. When combined with hydrophobic treatment, this inherent resistance helps maintain dimensional stability and long-term performance.
Building on the natural moisture resistance of the mineral fibers, CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Panels undergo a deep hydrophobic impregnation process. This treatment forms a stable hydrophobic layer on the surface of each fiber, making it difficult for liquid water to penetrate into the board structure. Even under rainy conditions or in damp construction environments, water ingress is effectively restricted, preventing a sharp increase in thermal conductivity caused by internal moisture absorption.
By combining the inherent moisture resistance of inorganic mineral raw materials with a stable and controlled hydrophobic treatment process, CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Panels effectively minimize the impact of humid environments on insulation systems. This enables the panels to maintain structural integrity and stable thermal performance during long-term service, even under demanding coastal and high-humidity conditions.
