Gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen and argon, are applied to many industries. These gases are obtained through cryogenic gas separation techniques whereby the air condenses and is converted to liquid. Distillation is then used to separate the various elements. The so-called air separation devices are characterized by extremely low temperatures at as low as about -200 °C.
